Transit Services Driver of the Year
The Driver of the Year is chosen by Transit employees, and awarded to a bus operator based on job performance, courtesy, neatness, attendance, accident-free driving, and attitude. They receive one day of paid excused time, recognition on the outside of a fixed-route bus, a special uniform pin and plaque.
Driver of the Year
City Utilities Transit Driver Larry Grube is again being honored by his peers as the 2019 Driver of the Year. Larry received the award in 2014 and was most recently runner-up in 2018. This year’s runner up is Keith Hartman.
Larry, a native of the Wheatland, MO area, has driven for CU Transit the last 11 years and is highly respected for his professionalism, reliability, and positive outlook he shares with his coworkers and passengers on a daily basis.
“Larry is remarkably consistent in performing his duties,” said Matt Crawford, Director of Transit. “Larry does not use many words; he simply exudes his fine qualities by his presence. Larry carries out his tasks, delivering passengers safely and on time, without ever calling attention to his steady competence. We are pleased to present this award to him for a second time.”
